New Moon in Aquarius: Welcome Year of the Tiger
What an auspicious New Moon it is, coinciding with the Chinese celebration of the New Year, the year of the Tiger. Ancient civilizations coordinated their New Year celebrations with the New Moon. The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashannah, always falls on the New Moon in September. Chinese New Year falls in the New Moon in February.
This year the Aquarius New Moon is just one degree away from the Neptune-Chiron conjunction. This opens an amazing opportunity for healing on a very profound, global level. It’s no surprise that the Vancouver Olympics opened at this auspicious New Moon. The opening ceremonies moved me to tears (ok, that’s not a hard push) with its inclusive, all-are-welcome vibration. The courage and sheer determination of the athletes from all over the world always makes me feel happy to be human. And didn’t it just tap into the Aquarian energy of global responsibility and caring when Lionel Ritchie and Quincy Jones presented the latest version of “We Are the World”, all proceeds of which go directly to help Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake?

Where this New Moon falls in your own chart is where you will focus and experience your own healing synthesis. Look to the house where 25 degrees Aquarius falls. And look to see if there are other planets hovering nearby who are also affected by this powerful healing energy.
The healing potential of Chiron in Aquarius: You don’t have to go it alone! In fact, to even consider to go it alone is ridiculous. It’s a paradigm that has never worked and it still doesn’t! Look to collaboration for your most empowerment. Helping others and letting others help you is the Aquarian way. Maintaining your personal integrity and still belonging to some larger group makes for less struggle and more satisfaction. What helps one can also help all.
The last time Neptune and Chiron conjoined was at the end of WWII. Though these two conjoin exactly on 16 February they will continue to dance around one another through 2014, giving us all time to use this energy for maximum global and personal healing.
Venus (the lower octave of Neptune), planet of love and attraction, is moving through Pisces, as is Jupiter this entire year. (Neptune is the ruler of Pisces, seeing the connections?). This emphasis of Piscean energy inspires us to grander gestures of compassion and faith, trusting that all is unfolding as we envision it to be.
Aquarius, in its innovative creativity, taps into the collective genius of the unique human mind. We each know how astounding is our genius. Now to focus that genius towards EXACTLY what we wish to manifest and heal. Start with yourself. Start with you.
Full Moon in Leo:Wolf Moon
When the Sun is in Aquarius the Full Moon falls in the opposite sign: Leo.
We all know Leo as the lion and most of us are pretty taken with Lions and Leos. We love their sleek confidence, their warm-heartedness and they are known for some really good hair (especially if Leo is on the Ascendant) but we also know they can scare us half to death when they are not getting their way.
You have Leo somewhere in your own chart. That is where you will demonstrate Leo qualities. You might even have the Sun, the Moon, the Rising Sign, or other planets in Leo. If you do, you know EXACTLY what I mean. Or if you live with a Leo type you also know what I mean.At the Full Moon in Leo you want to look where that Leo-Aquarius axis at 10 degrees falls in your own chart. Those areas are where you can release what does not fit, does not align with your true Life purpose, your life path. You want to head towards what you WANT, not because you think you should. Shoulds only lead you astray. Then you end up where you don’t even want to be.
Aquarian energy mercifully arriving
I don’t know about you but personally I have had my fill of the Capricorn energy. With Pluto in Capricorn until 2024 clearly we will all be dealing with plenty of Capricorn enegry to keep us busy being serious for many years to come. At least the Sun is moving into Aquarius today for his yearly visit in the sign of Aquarius, joining Venus who has already stuck her toe in the water bearer’s jug.
Aquarian energy is like a breath of fresh air. Much needed, I might add. Aquarius is ruled by the rebel planet Uranus, heralding new ideas, innovative solutions to nagging problems, coming together in groups (where innovative solutions are more easily found), and expanding our vision and intention to include the community of all of us. Venus in Aquarius is goign to let us try all kinds of new approaches to relationship. Clearly I could use that as the old ways are hardly tried and true.
How perfect that the Winter Olympics will be happening in Vancouver and Whistler, BC during the time of Aquarius. The Olympics is the essential representation of the Aquarian spirit: indiviuality within a group context. I have been obsessively watching the pre-Olympic trials, which have been even more exciting than the Olympics, with a lot less hype. Many of the athletes have been interviewed, which I just love. Athletes are like alien beings to me . I like to hear about their training and what it really takes to be at the level of competing that they are at. I thrill to watch their grace, beauty, skill, strength, courage, and commitment to excellence. It boggles my mind. Then I look up their astrology charts.
Unfortunately birth times seem to be missing so accurate charts are not avaialble. I know that Apolo Ohno is a Gemini, which he spoke about himself during an interview. He misquoted Gemini traits, which I forgive him for. It was still fun to hear Astrology mentioned in the pre-Olympic trials. In classic Gemini styel, emphasis on fleet-footedness and versatility, he also won the Dancing with the Stars competition.Apolo! Call me with that birth time. I’ll do your chart for you.
And wildman Shaun White, snowboarder extreme, is a Virgo Sun, Virgo moon, no birth time available. Ask your parents, Shaun, then call me! I know we’ll NEVER see you dancing with the stars. That would take entirely too much time away from your video games.
Mining the Magic of Mercury Retrograde
Mining the magic of Mercury retrograde
Pretty much for most of us it feels like Mercury is always going retrograde these days. Things going wrong. Endless juggling of different sized balls. Life generally askew. Every time Mercury goes retrograde (which is three times a year for three weeks at a time) a collective groan can be heard and mournful sighs of: “Wasn’t Mercury JUST retrograde?” Well, it can certainly feel like that, especially in these mercurial times where communications have speeded up to a point where we can hardly keep up and so things start to crash all about. Cars break down. Motors need to be replaced. Belts in washing machines need tightening. Everything needs to be re-written (I mean EVERYTHING) and cell phones might as well be flushed down the toilet for all their mess-ups. You can do pretty much do anything on your cell phones these days but hear the person on the other end.
So the best thing to do during Mercury retrograde, which is challenging at best, is to tap into the magic inherent in this part of the Mercury cycle and find new ways to flow with the flow that’s already flowing. In other words stop trying to make things happen. Tune in to what is already happening and go with that. Mmmmm. Interesting concept. And so not easy to do.
I have been working on creating a TV interview show for women in business. You know, a show where we can just talk about what it’s really like to be in business, what the challenges really are, and maybe even uncover some tricks, tools, and templates to bring about success for each of us. The process of getting this together has been monumental and often I have found myself literally paralyzed, unable to move in any direction at all.
I need funding for the project (that’s a given) and I also need paying guests on the show. It’s a win-win for everybody because show sponsors will get blasted into cyberspace through all participating guests Youtube posts, Channel 22 and their YouTube posts, and my blasting in my own cyberspace launching frenzy. Viewers will aee those businesses as supportive of Priestess Entrepreneurs. That’s good for them. And great for us. In order to get funding I need some good sample footage of the show. This has been so much harder to get to happen than I could ever have imagined.
A guest gets to talk about her business in a normal, conversational style with yours truly (who get make ANYONE comfortable to chat). Video snippets from the interview can then be used on the guest’s own website. If you’re going to the expense of having a site (and if you don’t have site, come join this century) you really have to have video. If you just talk into a video camera it’s pretty much guaranteed to come out awful unless you’re a natural ham. For most people they come across actually normal when in conversation but not so much when talking to a camera. That’s what you want on your website: you talking about your services in a normal, relaxed, engaging style.
So I tried to do the tv shoot at the cable station studio. That was less than a good experience and that was months ago. Until this past week I was stalled as to how to move forward. It was only because I talked with a very wise friend in San Francisco, who could see my stuckness and had a brilliant idea to get me unstuck. In a mercurial flash Priestess Entrepreneur The TV Show: Kitchen Conversations was born. Remember that Mercury rules communication!
As soon as that venue and name was suggested to me I knew it was 100% right for me and I was able to move forward swiftly and with enthusiasm. Now I film out of my kitchen, with all my pretty things around and I have total control of how and who and when and well, everything, which is what really works best for me at this time.
Video snippet samples to be viewed in cypberspace next week! At last. And it happened during Mercury retrograde, when the re-working of a stalled project got it moving again, finally on the right track, heading right to SUCCESS.
I hear Oprah is retiring. Surely a replacement is needed. I could sure use a staff and a whole lot more shoes.
Astrological Forecasting clarification
As you might know I offer a weekly Celestial Gossip (you can purchase this invaluable weekly tool for just $5/month or $55 for an entire year at my website http://PriestessAstrology.com)). When I write a weekly forecast, or when you read any astrologer’s forecast you have to keep in mind a few things to benefit most from the information.
Firstly, the information is generalized to give you an overall feel of what energies will be influencing us here on Planet Earth. For more specifics to your own personal path you need to look at the planetary infleunces in relation to your own chart. For instance the Moon in Scorpio can be a nightmare for some and a pleasure for others. How it will affect you has to do with your own chart and how the planets are working their influence on you personally.
Secondly, each astrologer interprets planetary influences through the filter of her own consciousness and awareness. If you feel that your astrologer speaks to you in a way that makes sense to you and you see that her insights apply dircectly to your life then she is a good match for you to learn from and follow. If not, there are plenty of astrologers out there so find another.
Lastly, and most importantly, astrological projections are inherently vague because each of us has free will. Our individual and collective choices will affect the outcome of any projection. Good astrology presents potential, possibility, and tendency as indicated by the known effect of planetary influences as studied, charted, and interpreted for many centuries. The unknown factor is YOU! I can tell you it most probably will rain. Whether you bring an umbrella or not is entirely up to you.
Blue Moon New Year’s Eve Lunar Eclipse
Greetings Star Gazer!
I really can’t think of a better transition from 2009 into 2010
than the one the Starry Ones are delivering to us this New Year’s Eve.
It’s been such a year of transformation, release, disappointment, and awakening heralding a time when we are asked to step up to the plate 100% to make 2010 exactly what we envision it to be, and more.New Year’s Eve kicks off with a once-in-a-BLUE MOON Full Moon lunar eclipse
with major influences from many other planets.
Let’s see what that’s all about.
eclipsing (or blocking) the Moon’s reflection of the Sun. That’s what a Full Moon is: the FULL reflection of the Sun’s rays.
An eclipse, in all its mystery, offers a time of going within, a time of reflection, and purposeful navel-gazing. After contemplation it is time to release, let go, of what you no longer need. A closetful of crap you never use prevents you from receiving more. This holds true for all arenas of your life, not just the literal closets.
Sun in Capricorn points us towards our commitments.
Moon in Cancer shows us what we NEED in order to fulfill those commitments, what nurturing, support, guidance, and sweets we need to best accomplish our goals.
Get clear on these because getting your needs met makes the goal-getting way smoother.
Remember the triple conjunction of Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune in Aquarius? Who could forget? Well the Sun and Venus are in semi-square (45 degree) aspect to that triple conjunction bringing about the opportunity to transform the heaviness and fanaticism of both Capricorn and Aquarius into their highest manifestation of innovation and action for the global common good.
How courageously creative are you willing to be in 2010?
Personally I am so bored with how things are I am willing to take a quantum leap of courage to create my heart’s desire. What about you? Are you with me? It’s not only more FUN but more effective if we all do it together. Let’s do it! Let’s jump for the brass ring of our hearts’ desires
ANDFor just $5/month or $55 for the entire year you can receive my weekly Celestial Gossip.
You’re zooming through the cosmos you might as well know what’s going on!
Endless starry blessings,
Cindy, Priestess Astrologer
Mercury retrograde in Capricorn
Mercury retrograde: Enjoy the mischief!
26 December 2009 through 15 January 2010
Mercury in Capricorn
Mercury goes retrograde (looks like it’s going backward from our viewpoint on Planet Earth) 3 or 4 times a year for three weeks at a time. Generally speaking Mercury retrograde is known to bring a time where things just seem to go wrong. Mercury, the fleet-footed mischief maker of the zodiac, likes to make sure that you are not TOO attached to any plans and that maybe, just maybe, things are working out in ways other than what you had expected, for reasons you might never understand! Prepare for any number of communication glitches from missed appointments to emails sent you didn’t mean to send (oops!) to phone calls cutting off right at the crucial time (oops again!). Avoid signing any contracts during these next three weeks but if you have to, scrutinize the fine points. Try not to purchase any electronic or appliance type devices (especially a car!) and if you do, save the receipt. You might very well be returning it.
This Mercury retrograde period sees our mischievous friend in the constellation Capricorn, a very serious and somber place for our fleet-footed friend to be hanging out.
Capricorn values success gained through hard work, perseverance, persistence and commitment. Those sound like fighting words, my friend! Lighter spirits can have a hard time with the buckling down energy of Saturn-ruled Capricorn but keep in mind that the rewards and benefits harvested from this plan of action are most definitely worth it. See where you can streamline and get more efficient in your systems to create more of the success you desire or maybe just a better way to get through every day.
Where does this transiting Mercury fall in your own chart? Schedule a session and let’s take a look-see.
Let’s see, for me Mercury is already wrecking his usual havoc, irritating me just enough to make me want to weep a bit. My hot tub is broken. My washing machine is making threatening noises, or it’s possessed, both of which are expensive fixes. My browser cookies are broken. My sidewalks are covered with sheets of ice. And the phone is either rtinging or I can’t hear it.
I really think I need to head out for a little holiday cheer. Of course none of this is nearly as bad as when my sewer line broke some Christmases back and I was driving frantically to the local hotel at 6 a.m. to do my business before the line could be fixed! Still think I need some holiday cheer and I am going off in search of it. Dance class!
When Mercury is retrograde magic is afoot so loosen the reigns a little and let the magic flow! Miracles are waiting everywhere to be welcomed into your life. I could use one right about now.
Mercury retrograde 6 May through 30 May
Mercury retrograde ~ 6 May through 30 May
30 May through 14 June Mercury catches up with where he was at the beginning of the retrograde cycle.
Mercury starts this retrograde cycle in Gemini, cueing us to rethink plans and ideas to keep them more aligned with with what feels right and true on our journey. It’s like re-thinking the route you will take to get to your destination because you’re looking at the map in a new way, seeing roads that might be a better choice, better scenery if that’s what you like, or a more efficient path, if that’s your preference. The core issue is to get at what would work for you and re-align to fit that!
Then when Mercury falls back into Taurus you get to re-evaluate your values. What is important to you? What are your finances looking like? What is the best way to manage them? What are your priorities? Will you forego dinner to get a manicure. Will dinner take priority, no matter what?
The 3-way conjunction of Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter in Aquarius will twice be squared by fleet-footed Mercury. Be open to new people to do business (or pleasure) with and new ways to do it. These new alliances could lead to some profound healing for you. Maybe just letting someone help is a profound healing for you.

New Moon in Taurus
24 – 25 April 2009

Greetings Star Gazer!
It’s the New Moon in Taurus! Get planting! Fertile. Fecund. Ready to receive.
“April”comes from the Latin aperio, meaning “I open”.
Taurus is ruled by Venus, lover of Beauty and of LOVE itself. What path is your love nature telling us to follow? Venus, the ruler of Taurus (and of Libra, peace-loving sign of balance and harmony), just re-entered Aries, encouraging and supporting us to try the NEW, the fresh, the path of growth. Venus and her male counterpart, Mars (ruler of Aries) hover withing 10 degrees of one another until mid-July. This dancing pair supports us in confronting what our values are in relationship, in our livelihoods, in our Life path. This degree of the New Moon (6 degrees Taurus) makes a square to the solar eclipse which occurred on January 26th. (See how it is all connected?) The imperative of this connection is to ask yourself: Is what I want in line with how I am living? Or is it time for a change, for the better? Plant some seeds this weekend: seeds of your heart’s desires and maybe some plants as well! and do it with others. The time for collaboration is here. Enjoy your New Moon in Taurus. Moon enters Leo, Mercury Venus in challenging aspect
Mercury and Venus, in semi-square aspect on Monday morning.
BE extra careful in what you say and how you say it to those you love. Much said in love can be misconstrued as critical or judgmental. Use words with thought and care.Ms. Moon enters Leo midday. Leo, though generous of heart, can be quite dramatic and petulant when she doesn’t get her way, which can be SO tedious! Drama can be even more so with Mercury’s square to Neptune and Venus’s semi-square to Neptune. Drama clouded and fueled by confusion can drown
out the usual ebullient Leo energy, like clouds moving across the Sun.
What is real? The lines between fact and feeling, tenuous at best, are more so. Expect lots of confusion in love relationships.
Best to use the Neptunian influnce to harness your creativity, letting it flow towards beauty and high vibartion appeciation for the subtle realms.
Let BEAUTY inspire and guide you.
