Full Moon in Aquarius: the Buck Moon

Full Moon, the Buck Moon, of July’s end, 2010.
In Native American tradition July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. Last evening as I walked my little dog friends up along the ridge, the easternmost edge of the glorious Rocky Mountains, I spied a young buck resting on the side of an east-facing slope. Softest brown, he was nestled in among grasses and wild flowers in their mid-summer frenzy. He had 2 branches coming off his velvety antlers. I marveled at his peaceful loveliness and the joy of living so close to these gentle, beautiful creatures. And how do you like that? Just in time for the 2010 end of July Buck Full Moon.

too gorgeous for words

The FULL Moon in Aquarius opposite the Sun in Leo happens this evening into tomorrow.

The Full Moon sheds light, awareness, opportunity to SEE more of what it triggers. The Leo-Aquarius axis applies to the individual ego vs. the group mentality. Serving the group consciousness you are mature and clearly developed inside yourself is probably not such a great idea. Being only for yourself and not reaching out to be a part of community is the other extreme-also not so good. Full Moon times encourage you to look for and strive towards balance between two polarities.

Are you caring for yourself properly so your ego is healthy enough to be in service to the larger community? If so, the larger community can then feed you in return.  Look to where the Leo-Aquarius axis falls in your own chart. The houses these signs fall in and birth planets involved in the Leo-Aquarian axis will be highlighted tonight and tomorrow. Don’t know?  Time for an astro check-in! Schedule your astrology session today at http://PriestessAstrology.com

Full Moons are also good times to release. What needs to be let go?
Outdated clothes? How about outdated ideas and patterns of behavior?
You get to choose.  It’s YOUR life.

The Full Moon happens once a month. The other astrological events that are happening this month and on into the autumn are once in a forever type of cosmological occurrences. Certainly in our lifetimes there is nothing at all like what is happening right now and in the months to come.

What is MOST needed is your commitment to being clearly and truly on your path and all that that might mean for you individually and the planet at large.  Working on yourself to arrive at inner balance and focus and learning how to return to balance when you might be thrown off is top of the list priority these days. When you work on yourself, not only for balance and clear focus, but also to clear away dysfunctional, non-serving emotional/behavioral patterns, you clear the way for the best to come to you, the best and most wonderful dreams you envision for yourself and your loved ones.

The Aquarian Moon reminds you that all can be accomplished in community. Reach out for others as you go through your own molting, skin-shedding, cocoon bursting, summit scaling experiences. A healthy ego knows how to be in groups and still make time to be cozy and creative with oneself. Such is the balance of the Leo Sun-Aquarius Moon axis of this time, 25-26 July 2010. Whatever you learn today becomes a tool you have for always.

Cancer New Moon Solar Eclipse: 11 July 2010

The Solar eclipse of July 2010 is arrived. The Lunar eclipse was a few short, but whoa! intense, weeks ago. The time between these potent eclipses could have you feeling sandwiched precariously between a veritable rock and a hard place. This scrumptious, inviting photo of high mountain columbines is to remind you that in trying times of transition and flux nothing soothes a racing heart like a walk in the woods.

If you’re urban go to your local botanical gardens and those of us fortunate to be by wilderness, get into it! Release your worries and cares to the trees and flowers. Relish their loveliness and remember you too are of Nature and you too have a season. What season are you in of your life?
Whatever it may be, enjoy it, as it is yours.

Eclipses are times when the magical portal of all that could be becomes possible. Patterns of energy are disrupted so new patterns of thought (thought creates reality) are able to make it through to us here on Earth. And don’t we need some new thought patterns right about now?! Think of this eclipse as a COSMIC UPGRADE to our systems.

As this New Moon eclipse is in the sign of Cancer let’s take a look at Cancer energy. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer, the constellation of the essential female nurturing principle. In Cancer are all the archetypes of the Divine Mother energy. And what will the Divine Mother not yield to support and nurture?
As we each reclaim the Divine Feminine in ourselves, shifting away from the masculine imperative TO DO to the feminine imperative of BEING and RECEIVING, we create the template for the balance that is so desperately needed. The Divine Feminine does not say do nothing, the Divine Feminine reminds us that every action has a consequence so action is to be taken not impulsively but with consideration for the effects to the greater family to which we ALL belong.

Cancer is directly connected to FEELINGS. What FEELS right? What FEELS not right? Choices made IN BALANCE with the directions of the mind and the imperative of the heart just FEEL RIGHT.
Take some time this New Moon eclipse to test how much you follow your feelings and how much your mind dominates your choices. When the mind dominates you’ll hear “shoulds”. Shoulds are born in the mind. Action in alignment with feelings feel right and never feel like “shoulds”.

Cancer is the nesting instinct and ideas of security. Are you putting your faith in something real and true or something fleeting? What makes you feel secure? Are you inviting more of that into your life?

New Moon in Gemini

New Moon in Gemini.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury, as is Virgo (remember Mars is in Virgo right now) so lots of mercurial energy about- buzzy, flighty, conversational, chatty, busy with many things  – scattered, fun, and full of the contradictions of duality.

The New Moon reminds you that once a month, in alignment with the influence of the lunar cycle, you can bring in and call to you the NEW. With the strong mercurial flavor of this New Moon consider new thought forms and new ways of thinking about your life to better serve you in these amazing times of transformation and change.
Where does 21 degrees Gemini fall in your chart? This is where you will experience new insights, new perceptions, new thought forms.
Excellent! Just what you needed at this pivotal time.

Be open to new info, new ways of perceiving and go towards those teachers and teachings that can support that!
One of my favorite teachers – sound healer and all around delightful mercurial guy – Zakairan, will be doing a FREE tele-call from Australia on Sunday, June 13th, 7 p.m. Mountain Time. If you would like to be on the call and you’re in the U.S. just dial:
303. 330. 0432  When you are asked for the code, press: 189161
If you are in Canada or another country email me and I will send you the appropriate info.
Just leave a reply and I’ll get that info to you.

Mars in Virgo

Mars enters practical, detail-oriented Virgo where he will be busy organizing, discerning, clarifying, and serving efficiently until 29 July.
Mars has been in Leo for so long, what with the seemingly endless retrograde movement, that we are pretty much fried from all that martian Leo energy. Mars in Virgo is a reprieve from all that blasted heat, helping you to get organized, get things done, and feel more grounded. I embrace Mars in Virgo totally! of course I have my share of Virgo energy and I appreciate the gifts that Virgo brings.
I just put my house on the market for sale so I have been tossing, cleaning, fussing, organizing, packing, and taking stock. Perfect Mars in Virgo activities.
Where are you doing that in your own life? Where Virgo falls in your own chart, that’s where Mars is hovering and that’s the arena of your life that will be activated by this transit.

Uranus and Jupiter dancing cheek to cheek

Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct at zero degrees Aries, now until 14 June. This same conjunction occurs again in September and in January. This is the taster.I turned on the local news the other night to follow the story of a bridge collapsing and filling the creek near my house with chunks of debris.
I caught the footage of a public service explosion in Denver that looked exactly like the Tower card in the Tarot deck:
Wow! The Tower card is about the destruction of old structures and everything no longer valid to make way for the new.
Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Aries. There you have it. It’s happening locally, it’s happening globally, and it’s happening personally as well. Since there’s not a whole lot you can do about the local and global
(some, but not much) best to focus on the personal. Where are the massive upheavals and changes happening in your own personal sphere? (we can see this in your chart, of course). Where are you burning down the structures of what has been to be birth yourself anew – fresh, free, and open to new possibilities and new opportunities?
And believe me, this is just the beginning.
Astrology can be a powerful tool and ally to you during these TOWER times. You have your own unique skills and ways of managing life that work specifically for you. Your chart reveals where the TOWER energy is playing out for you personally as well as ways to ride these changes with awareness and grace, which sounds infinitely more appealing than succumbing  to obsessive-compulsive behaviors (which ones do you do?) that only serve to falsely soothe in the very moment you’re doing them but really don’t serve in the long run.

Full Moon in Sagittarius with a Uranian blast!

This is the Full Moon in Sagittarius, the Flower Moon of 2010.
I chose the Wild Iris as the header photo because WILD is truly the name of today’s game.

Are you ready for the ride of your life? Are you open and willing for changes to open up your world in ways that set your free beyond your wildest imaginings? Are you wanting to go beyond limiting thoughts and circumstances?

Well, my dear Star Gazer, today and in the coming months, we get a taste of that unimaginable freedom and the chaos that comes with it. Uranus, master stirrer of the cosmic surprise pot, enters dynamic, fearless Aries today, heralding an entirely NEW and exciting time in our personal and collective story on the planet. Uranus is at zero degrees Aries until August 13th. Then it moves back into Pisces (where it has been for 7 years) until 12 March 2011. Then Uranus will be in Aries until 2018. And you can expect a pretty exciting ride!

Brilliant breakthroughs (oh! how we need them!) and visionary potential steeping into ACTION is the theme of the times that are now upon us. Out of necessity is born the most unusual and creative solutions. Personally I always think that as a species humans are best when we are using our genius to problem-solve. We’re really quite good at it. The times demand full creative problem-solving and I mean right now.

Besides the obvious and painfully horrendous oil spill debacle (and we all know there’s more to that than the obvious) I did hear of an interesting Uranian marriage yesterday: Tesla and Toyota. Toyota’s near total crash and burn, falling from grace as the most reliable auto company on the planet, now aligns with a more efficient, not gas-dependent technology – electricity to heal itself and the rest of us one step further towards a better way. Uranus energy likes to work in community for the good of all and is the ruler of electricity and technological advances. Don’t you just love astrology? Astrology is the story of the times!

Harnessing the Uranian energy of electricity!
The KEY!

In your own life this energy of innovation and change will play out just as it does on the planetary scene. We truly all are one and are experiencing this energy every one of us. Where does the early degrees of Uranus fall in your chart and what planets and points are activated there? This is where you will experience the most dramatic breakthroughs and revolutionary changes. These areas are where you will feel the urge to be most truly and uniquely YOU!

The Full Moon in the Jupiter-ruled sign of Sagittarius is opposite the Mercury-ruled sign of Gemini. Both Sagittarius and Gemini ask you to look at how you think and what you are thinking about, how you communicate and how tapped into the bigger vision you are.
Staying connected to what is right and true for you, though it might fly in the face of what others feel is right and true for you is a MUST during this powerful and empowering Full Moon. Times of the Full Moon create a doorway to release, allowing and encouraging you to LET GO of what you really don’t need any longer. And I can bet that for most everybody, that’s a whole lot of STUFF, on the mental and the material plane. I’m talking more than just closets!

This Full Flower Moon heralds some other rather significant astral events.

Jupiter and Uranus conjoin on June 5th for their 14 year year reunion. Expect LARGE, expansive innovations and breakthroughs. For you too!

On May 30 Saturn turns direct at 28 degrees Virgo. As Saturn moves forward and enters the early degrees of Libra a POWERFUL T-square with Pluto and Uranus gets activated. Whoa! Much conscious showing-up required, especially in the areas of your chart where the T sits. It’s crucial that you know where this is playing out for you personally so you are best empowered to use and activate this energy for your own personal growth and transformation.

On May 31 Neptune goes retrograde, supporting surrender and tapping into the great imagination of all that is and ever could be.
Chiron in Aquarius stations retrograde (sits still as it prepares to move backward) on June 4, pushing for healing through collaboration and connection to one another and to all things.

I know! I know! It’s the wildest of all times.
No need to go it alone. The old way of pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps (how ridiculous!) and doing it solo is OVER!
Collaborate. Connect. Reach out. Ask for help/

Buckle up, dear Star Gazer.
It’s a wild ride! Let it be fun, invigorating, and enlivening!
It’s exactly what you experience it to be!

Taurus New Moon: Sedna’s on the scene

New Moon in Taurus
13 – 14 May  2010
Get Planting!

Greetings Star Gazer!
It’s the New Moon time of Taurus. YAY!
But before we get on to that -
did you survive Mercury retrograde?

I heard endless bizarre stories this Mercury retrograde period, now mercifully passed, but probably none so perfect as what happened with my car, the classic story of re-doing what was began months before, the main result of a Mercury retrograde influence in Taurus (what you own).
You might (or might not) remember that my car died some months ago and I got the entire engine replaced. Well last week I went to get the oil changed and they found a leak in the engine. They decided to replace the entire engine again(it was under warranty). Wow. 2 heart transplants in one car in less than 6 months. Really makes you wonder, or not, of you’re following the stars!

Well Mercury retrograde has passed (until the next one) and Mercury, though moving forward, will not quite catch up to where it was when it began to move retrograde for another couple of weeks.
A fabulous and timely time to finish up whatever you had to re-do.

Tonight, into tomorrow, the Moon in New in sensual, earthy Taurus, accentuating the explosion of life force energy.
No better time that now to celebrate and encourage new growth. Whether it be the actual seeds of growth bursting forth from Mother Earth or the seeds of your own personal growth, the New Moon in Taurus supports growth. Turn your attention to GROWTH.

As we know with new growth, it is tender and requires gentle handling before it secures itself in its own power. Are you gentle with yourself as new parts of you emerge, as you nurture the new growth and new desires that are you? Taurus energy helps you to harness patience and ability to persist in your forward movement, even if it’s just baby steps.

Taurus is literally about the Earth. How do you live on Earth? How do you support and nurture what supports and nurtures you?

What other planetary influences are involved with this New Moon?
Neptune, in all his dreamy connections to the far, far beyond, squares this New Moon. Neptune reminds us that all is not visible to the naked eye, all is not what it may seem. Neptune reminds us that we are all connected, one to each other, and our planet to the rest of the solar system, and beyond.

While the Sun and Moon snuzzle up in Taurus, two other teams of energy are also activated. Jupiter and Uranus in the last degrees of Pisces encourage you to open up possibilities for innovative, genius ideas that are born in the depths of your unconscious, your intuitive knowingness and reach to unify and connect.
Neptune in late degree of Aquarius (28) and Chiron at zero degree Pisces (that’s a 2 degree separation) supports you in seeing the connectedness in all things to bring about the needed healing, for yourself and our home planet.

Have you heard yet about dwarf planet Sedna? You’ll be hearing more and more about her. She is named for an Inuit story of a sea goddess, abandoned by her father to find her own strength, She finds herself and activates her power in the depths of the oceans – the richness of her emotional connection to all that is.

This New Moon is conjunct Sedna. Embracing your connection to your own divine feminine wisdom is the message of this New Moon.

“How do I access my inner intuitive guidance?
How do I hear the voice of the divine feminine coming through me?”
Excellent and important questions!

Mercury Retrograde kicking some butt

Greetings Star Gazers!
From my perch here in the foothills of the Rockies it certainly feels like the most butt-kicking Mercury retrograde period of recent remembrance. But least I don’t live in Iceland.
I did have somewhat of a crush on an Icelandic boy I knew at college and wonder if he was in Iceland at the time of this latest volcanic event. I would Google him expect that I can only remember his striking face – his name totally escapes me.

The Iceland volcano started off this whole period with a cosmic bang of all bangs.
Whoa!
Electric Uranus clashes with a Plutonian eruption
Eyjafjallajokull, Iceland

(and you thought Astrology was challenging!
How about if you had to participate in an Icelandic spelling bee?
That would be a day in Spelling purgatory)

Air travel in and out of Europe brought to a standstill for days. Travelers stranded mid-journey. Or was this just part of the journey?
Having to completely surrender to things way beyond our control in terms of our own plans and schedules-clearly a Mercury retrograde trick. I’ll bet people started to connect in ways they never thought they would have. Ah, the trickster up to his crazy magical antics.

To view more FABULOUS photos from Iceland
click onEyjafjallajokull photos

I myself was supposed to have a vacation with friends in the glorious red rocks of Utah but a winter snow storm across I-70 forced a change of plans. I guess I am needing to tend to things on the home front and who knows why I couldn’t seem (once again) to get out of the orbital pull of Boulder?

Mercury is up to his mischief until May 11th. Lots of other planets are, of course, also involved in creating all kinds of opportunities for you to confront your limitations and rigid patterns. Mercury scoffs at your plans, making merry with your anticipation and projections, offering you over and over again the choice to recreate your experience in the magic of each moment you have.

I always think of Mercury retrograde as aligned with the energy of the Hanged Man card in the Tarot: encouraging you to look at things from another perspective and therein find new ways of looking at any baffling situation. Or maybe just accepting that sometimes you can’t figure things out and need to just make the best of what is.
A statement of gratitude will take you into much vaster enjoyment than whining, though whining sure does feel good every now and then.

A great book for this Mercury Retrograde period, in the vein of Hermann Hesse’s Siddhardtha (my favorite) and The Wizard of Oz (another personal fav) is Paolo Coehlo’s The Alchemist.
The journey is always about returning to the self.
Thank you, Cat Cantor, magical Accutonics massage therapist, whom I will be interviewing gon my Priestess Entrepreneur TV show next month, for recommendin this excellent read to me.

Mercury retrograde in Taurus

Mercury Retrograde
in Taurus
17 April – 11 May

Greetings Star Gazer!

Yes, it’s that time again: Mercury retrograde.
And I am glad of it.
Imagine if you never took any time to review and rework things, never stopped moving forward in the frantic pace of our times. I say YAY! to Mercury retrograde. Let’s slow down a bit and look at what you’ve got, where you’re headed and what’s important and then re-boot with clearer intentions.

When a planet goes retrograde it reviews and relishes in the energy of the constellation it is moving through. Mercury going retrograde in Taurus asks you to look at what you value, what is important to you, what your relationship is to money and to the mounds of stuff we tend to accumulate.

If you have never seen George Carlin’s bit on STUFF it’s worth tracking down. It reminds me of when my nieces graduated from college and I said: “Girls! Now your life really begins. You will be schlepping your stuff from place to place and back again.” What about your stuff, your accumulations? Time to release and purge? Time to let go of what you don’t need so you can have time and attention for what your really do need and want?

What about your relationship with money? What’s that looking like these days? Relaxed and comfortable? Gripped and uptight, holding on for dear life? Spending on what you really need and want or spending out of habit? This Mercury retrograde time encourages you to look at your relationship with money.

And what about what you really value? Are you making those things a priority in your life? If not, why not?

Taurus energy reminds you get grounded and re-evaluate from a place of feet firmly on the earth, taking care of earthly concerns and your relationship to those things. Taurus is slow-moving and sensual so don’t expect things to happen in lightening-quick fashion during this time. Take your time working through your own experience of the time. Consciously slow down and smell the daffodils!

Expect the usual snafus and communication glitches common to a Mercury retrograde time. If you’re sniffing flowers you won’t even notice.

Here’s the classic Mercury retrograde story: my friend and her husband got stuck in a revolving door at a restaurant! They had to back out. HA! Perfect Mercury retrograde snafu: retracing steps and clearing the intention for forward movement! And don’t we feel like we are stuck in a revolving door sometimes in our own lives? I know I do!

Who else is going backward?
Both Pluto and Saturn are also going retrograde at this time.
Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, Saturn retrograde in Virgo, and Mercury retrograde in Taurus: all EARTH signs.

The EARTH signs remind us to ground down into our connection to what is real. Taurus reminds you to connect with the things of Nature. Virgo reminds you to discern your work and service through attention to detail. Capricorn reminds you to be alert and aware as to the systems you are working with and how to use them to help with your own ascension.

It helps to connect with the natural world, reminding you of your own rhythm and connection. Watch some birds build their nests today or sniff a cloud. Review your world and reconnect with what is real and nurturing for you.
