Full Moon in Pisces: Sturgeon Moon

Greetings Star Gazer!
It’s the Sturgeon Full Moon of August!

I would imagine the Sturgeon Moon moniker came from the running of the sturgeon at this time of year but this astrologer’s imagination went right to PISCES, Moon in Pisces opposite, the Sun, which just entered Virgo today.
Pisces rules bodies of water and that’s where the blessed sturgeon lives.

The Full Moon illuminates opposing forces in each of us, wanting resolution and balance. Or as one of my astrology teachers, Jyoti Wind, says of oppositions: “An opposition dreams in its sleep of becoming a conjunction.” In other words, opposing forces yearn to be neutralized and similar.

Pisces and Virgo always seem to me to be the most opposing of all the Full Moon oppositions. Virgo can be analytical, fussy, judgmental, and particular to the extreme (Hey! EVERYONE has some Virgo in their charts, some more than others) while Pisces is all-loving, all encompassing, all-forgiving. Virgo cares excessively about what is right and proper. Pisces knows nothing of rights and wrongs, swimming in the eternal oneness of existence. Virgo insists on practical ritual and efficiency . Pisces embraces ritual that brings her as far from what is practical as is humanly possible, desiring only that which connects her to Oneness. Virgo wants to know what is, by using the refined faculties of a trained mind. Pisces knows what she knows because she feels it in every cell of her body.

Both of these mutable signs are energies of service and caring, through work, through sacrifice, through ritual.

Is one way better than the other? Of course not. Both qualities are desirable and you have some of each in your own make-up.

Are these energies out of balance in you? Any adjustments need to be made? This FULL MOON is the perfect time to tweak and arrange to more fully be in balance.

Full Moon in Sagittarius with a Uranian blast!

This is the Full Moon in Sagittarius, the Flower Moon of 2010.
I chose the Wild Iris as the header photo because WILD is truly the name of today’s game.

Are you ready for the ride of your life? Are you open and willing for changes to open up your world in ways that set your free beyond your wildest imaginings? Are you wanting to go beyond limiting thoughts and circumstances?

Well, my dear Star Gazer, today and in the coming months, we get a taste of that unimaginable freedom and the chaos that comes with it. Uranus, master stirrer of the cosmic surprise pot, enters dynamic, fearless Aries today, heralding an entirely NEW and exciting time in our personal and collective story on the planet. Uranus is at zero degrees Aries until August 13th. Then it moves back into Pisces (where it has been for 7 years) until 12 March 2011. Then Uranus will be in Aries until 2018. And you can expect a pretty exciting ride!

Brilliant breakthroughs (oh! how we need them!) and visionary potential steeping into ACTION is the theme of the times that are now upon us. Out of necessity is born the most unusual and creative solutions. Personally I always think that as a species humans are best when we are using our genius to problem-solve. We’re really quite good at it. The times demand full creative problem-solving and I mean right now.

Besides the obvious and painfully horrendous oil spill debacle (and we all know there’s more to that than the obvious) I did hear of an interesting Uranian marriage yesterday: Tesla and Toyota. Toyota’s near total crash and burn, falling from grace as the most reliable auto company on the planet, now aligns with a more efficient, not gas-dependent technology – electricity to heal itself and the rest of us one step further towards a better way. Uranus energy likes to work in community for the good of all and is the ruler of electricity and technological advances. Don’t you just love astrology? Astrology is the story of the times!

Harnessing the Uranian energy of electricity!
The KEY!

In your own life this energy of innovation and change will play out just as it does on the planetary scene. We truly all are one and are experiencing this energy every one of us. Where does the early degrees of Uranus fall in your chart and what planets and points are activated there? This is where you will experience the most dramatic breakthroughs and revolutionary changes. These areas are where you will feel the urge to be most truly and uniquely YOU!

The Full Moon in the Jupiter-ruled sign of Sagittarius is opposite the Mercury-ruled sign of Gemini. Both Sagittarius and Gemini ask you to look at how you think and what you are thinking about, how you communicate and how tapped into the bigger vision you are.
Staying connected to what is right and true for you, though it might fly in the face of what others feel is right and true for you is a MUST during this powerful and empowering Full Moon. Times of the Full Moon create a doorway to release, allowing and encouraging you to LET GO of what you really don’t need any longer. And I can bet that for most everybody, that’s a whole lot of STUFF, on the mental and the material plane. I’m talking more than just closets!

This Full Flower Moon heralds some other rather significant astral events.

Jupiter and Uranus conjoin on June 5th for their 14 year year reunion. Expect LARGE, expansive innovations and breakthroughs. For you too!

On May 30 Saturn turns direct at 28 degrees Virgo. As Saturn moves forward and enters the early degrees of Libra a POWERFUL T-square with Pluto and Uranus gets activated. Whoa! Much conscious showing-up required, especially in the areas of your chart where the T sits. It’s crucial that you know where this is playing out for you personally so you are best empowered to use and activate this energy for your own personal growth and transformation.

On May 31 Neptune goes retrograde, supporting surrender and tapping into the great imagination of all that is and ever could be.
Chiron in Aquarius stations retrograde (sits still as it prepares to move backward) on June 4, pushing for healing through collaboration and connection to one another and to all things.

I know! I know! It’s the wildest of all times.
No need to go it alone. The old way of pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps (how ridiculous!) and doing it solo is OVER!
Collaborate. Connect. Reach out. Ask for help/

Buckle up, dear Star Gazer.
It’s a wild ride! Let it be fun, invigorating, and enlivening!
It’s exactly what you experience it to be!

Full Moon in Libra: Worm Moon

Greetings Star Gazer!
It’s the Worm Moon of Aries time. I am assuming this Full Moon is named as such because as the ground thaws in the temperate Northern climes the worms are coming alive, beginning their incredible work of preparing the soil for planting. I did you a favor and did not include photos of worms, though I am a strong proponent of vermiculture. Are you working the soil of your own life? Well, get to it. The time of the Worm move is nigh upon us.

The Full Moon in Libra, the first full moon of the new Zodiac cycle corresponds each year with the ritual of Passover, the Jewish celebration of liberation and feedom from oppression. Where are you still oppressed? What can you do to liberate yourself from any limitation? Remeber what Bob Marley taught us: “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds”. Are you ready to release yourself from prisons you have created for yourself? No better time than right now at the Worm Moon, 2010.

This Full Moon, like all full moons, sheds light on what we need to release and shed, what we need to let go of that no longer supports our life journey. The polarities of Aries-Libra emphasizes where we need to work on Self (Aries) and where we need to learn compromise and cooperation.

Aries is courageous, risk-taking, and full of dynamic fiery energy to move forward. Consider the energy it must take for bulbs to break the surface of thawing ground. It’s mind-boggling.
Same too for you. Where will you direct this burst of energy to push through to the light in your own life?
Libra supports partnership, fairness, and balance.

The polarity of the Full Moon asks you to look at where you need to assert yourself with dynamic force and where do you need to collaborate and cooperate.

If that’s all that was happening that would be enough to work on but our friend Pluto (yes, befriending Pluto will certainly help with the transformation process) is squaring the Full Moon. This square shows us what is holding you back, which could very well be, and often is, your own self.

When you think Pluto think about metamorphosis. Go see Alice in Wonderland (you must!) and see Absolom do his thing from caterpiller to butterfly. That’s you too. Are you doing what you need to do to transition into the butterfly you are destined to be?

Pluto in Capricorn reminds us that we are 100% responsible for every single thing that happens in your life. When you do this you step completely into the full empowerment of the amazingness that you truly are. Are you ready? And are you moving in your life with conscious choices or unconscious choices? Either will get you where you will end up but clearly being more conscious is way better.

That is obvious, is it not?

Full Moon at the Star House

Last night, as the Full Moon shone above through soft, yellowy clouds tinged with blue, I was privileged to participate in a Full Moon honoring and celebration at the local All Seasons Chalice in the foothills of the Rockies, called the Star House. There were about 25 people gathered in this sacred place to light the fire inside of ourselves for the winter months to come. This Autumn I feel more darkness than I have in years, even though the winds of change have brought us new leadership, the dark still reigns, or so it feels so to me.

I was grateful to light a candle to honor the friends I am bessed with, in human and spirit form.

This Full Moon, Sedna, who orbits way beyind Pluto, and is the carrier of our connection to expanded realities, connecting us to the Divine Feminine, aligns with the moon’s glow, empowering and imbuing us with her energy

Neptune forms a square to the luantion as well, softening and confusing the edges, asking us to look at illusion and break through it with the light of the FUll Moon.

It’s a powerful time of transformation on Planet Earth and in each of our selves. Light a candle to light your inner fire, Call in the starry beings who are here to help, guide, and support you on your ascension journey.
Who knew it would be so hard to do?
But indeed it seems to be so.
Ask for help to lesson the ardor of the journey.
Let it be easier than it has been!

AMEN!
